Céline and Nicolas heartily welcome you to their home set in the medieval village of Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye. Cosy, romantic, decorated with love, this studio apartment and its gorgeous garden are a picturesque setting to stay in a wonderful, yet authentic and lively historical village of Dauphiné. Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye and its green hills are a perfect gate to discover the magnificient moutainous countryside of Isère and Drôme, go skiing in the winter and hiking in warmer days.

Rates 2020-21 : For 1 or 2 persons 65 € per night starting from 2 nights, 70 € a single night. Additional 15 € for a 3d person (child aged 2 and more)
380 € per week. Visitor's tax : 1,25 € per night and per person.

All the basics are furnished : bed sheets, towels, coffee... The studio - 30 m2 - has a 140x190 bed, relaxing facilities including a piano, a record player and a small library about Saint-Antoine and the Dauphiné; a well-equipped kitchen and a small bathromm/toilet. We can provide with a further child mattress or baby bed.

Le Dictambule is a Guesthouse in Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye, a gorgeous village in Isère, Dauphiné, labeled Most Beautiful Villages of France. At the heart of the medieval town, you will enjoy a tastefully decorated, well-equiped studio apartment, where you can play the piano and listen to old 33 and 45 records. You will nicely relax in our romantic green garden, to the back of the house. A charmfull accomodation between Grenoble and Valence, at the feet of the Alps in the heart of Dauphiné.

Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye is a gorgeous medieval village labeled among the most beautiful villages of France. Set in the lush, bright and pleasant Chambarans hills, facing the alpine Vercors range, Saint-Antoine lies at the heart of the Dauphiné region, historically made of the départements Isère, Drôme and Hautes-Alpes. It is located in the département Isère, just bordering the Drôme, at the junction of alpine and mediterranean influences. The hilly  landscape around Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye is as rural as fascinating. 
   

Our well-equipped studio apartment in Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye enjoys a great location in the Grande Rue, the main street of the medieval borough, just in front of the monumental staircase leading to the gothic abbey church. This quiet and serene accomodation, full of flair, occupying the the ground floor of a XVth century dwelling, belongs together with our terace garden, which you can join a few steps donwstairs through a typical goulet (stairs-passage), to the back of the house.

                               

We offer the advantages both of a guesthouse in Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye, and of an independent appartment. At the Dictambule, you can  enjoy the independance and the rates of a holiday apartment as well as the confort and the warm welcome of a guesthouse. You do not have to bring anything, we take care of everything ! We provide you with the linen, give tea, coffee, cooking basics, or honey for your disposal. Passionated with the village and the Dauphiné region, its history, its heritage, its mountains, we will appreciate to chat with you  and to advise you along your  stay in Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye.

                                         

The studio apartment is fully independent, made of a big room which has a 140x190 bed , a dining corner, a reading sofa, a regional library containing works about Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye and the Dauphiné, trekking maps and further touristic information ; a tuned and ready-to-be-played piano, a record player and a lovely collection of 33 and 45 discs for music lovers.

              

                                   


The half-open kitchen includes a fridge, two heating plates, a mini-oven, a cooker hood, a water-boiler, an italian coffee mashine, a toaster, and complete dishes facilities.









The bathroom/toilet features a shower, a hair-dryer, an ironing-board and an iron. The toilet basics are here (soap, towels), as well as cleaning products.                                  








We can provide you with a mattress for a child or a baby bed.

The Land of Saint-Antoine in Spring : a Majestic Show !



Spring is a wonferful season to explore the Land of Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye.  The landscapes of Dauphiné between Alps and Hills find then a real climax.


                     
Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye, labeled among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, is set in a lush environment of steep hills which becomes a gigantic festival of coloured greenness in April, with its fields full of flowers, blossoming fruit trees and multi-coloured meadows.


As a background, the view on the apline Vercors range is incredible : the High Peaks, from the Grande Moucherolle (2284 m) to the Grand Veymont (2341 m), all located in the département Isère, have kept their coat of snow, whereas the warm light of Spring already invades the Isère valley and the hills of Chambaran.

This is an ideal season to have a stay in Isère, in this privileged corner of authentic countryside between Vercors and Drôme hills. The village of Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye lives then at a charming pace, all together peacefull and lively, when the touristic season has not yet really been started : a real little paradise.

You will have a taste of pleasures with the gastronomie of Dauphiné in one of the 5 restaurants Saint-Antoine has, you will discover the remarkable gothic abbey church dominating the  village. And you will hang around in the picturesque medieval streets, whose warm sandstone blocks and river pebbles of which their houses are built get highlighted by the sun of may.
 

This will be also an opportunity to enjoy some farniente in the beautiful closed garden of our  guesthouse near Saint-Marcellin and Romans-sur-Isère.
