Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye, labeled among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, is set in a lush environment of steep hills which becomes a gigantic festival of coloured greenness in April, with its fields full of flowers, blossoming fruit trees and multi-coloured meadows.
As a background, the view on the apline Vercors range is incredible : the High Peaks, from the Grande Moucherolle (2284 m) to the Grand Veymont (2341 m), all located in the département Isère, have kept their coat of snow, whereas the warm light of Spring already invades the Isère valley and the hills of Chambaran.
This is an ideal season to have a stay in Isère, in this privileged corner of authentic countryside between Vercors and Drôme hills. The village of Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye lives then at a charming pace, all together peacefull and lively, when the touristic season has not yet really been started : a real little paradise.
You will have a taste of pleasures with the gastronomie of Dauphiné in one of the 5 restaurants Saint-Antoine has, you will discover the remarkable gothic abbey church dominating the village. And you will hang around in the picturesque medieval streets, whose warm sandstone blocks and river pebbles of which their houses are built get highlighted by the sun of may.
This will be also an opportunity to enjoy some farniente in the beautiful closed garden of our guesthouse near Saint-Marcellin and Romans-sur-Isère.
